Michele has a heart for adults who have experienced trauma and she is an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) practitioner. In addition, she uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) tools for clients coping with depression, anxiety, addictions, and chronic physical illness. She has counseled individuals and married couples as a Prepare/Enrich facilitator. She is a Grief & Loss Specialist, awarded by the American Association of Christian Counselors, helping individuals and families face loss, grief, and the end-of-life. Wherever clients permit, she incorporates spiritual practices and biblical encouragement in the counseling process.
Michele has been providing Christian counseling since 2008. Prior to that, she had a diverse career in social work as a researcher, university faculty member, program planner, and administrator. She recently became an LCSW- Supervisor to help train the next generation of clinical social workers. She is currently Austin Chapter President of Christian Counselors of Texas.
