As early as she can remember, Ruth has had a heart for taking someone’s hand to offer encouragement along the road of life and to strengthen the voice of those who have been unable to advocate for themselves. After graduation with a degree in International Relations from ORU, her passion for policy reform led her to serve in a variety of arenas, including volunteerism in the US and overseas. With a desire to make an even greater impact in serving those in need, and with the support of her husband and 2.5 children, Ruth is pursuing the final year of her graduate degree in counseling.
Ruth has seen first-hand the life-changing, positive influence of being in community versus isolation. She has a passion to link arms with those who need a listening ear and the message of hope. Ruth is committed to cultural sensitivity and believes in the healing power of life-giving relationships. She enjoys working on issues including: women’s issues, addiction, family, life transitions/stressors, self-esteem, and identity.
For “self-care,” Ruth enjoys travel, cooking, quality time with family, listening to jazz and learning something new from a good book.
